Welcome, I am your ally in the world of relationships. Let’s Kick off a transformative adventure where we navigate twists & turns of your emotions, fostering a stronger, more resilient bond.

I am the Founder and Clinical Director of Voyage Couples Therapy in Etobicoke, Ontario. I proudly say today was once just a fragment of imagination in my mind but has now become a reality, built bit by bit. As a Registered Psychotherapist, I hold 8 years of extensive experience in providing support through Couples Therapy, Marriage Counselling, and individual Relationship Counselling.

My Approach

In my sessions, I draw from evidence-based models (Emotionally Focused Therapy & Gottman Method of Couples Therapy) & my own culturally sensitive lived experiences to help couples build the dream life they deserve.

I often view myself holding a multicultural lens in my therapy process through my experience of working in different countries, different settings, various cultures & ethnicities  & over years of working with different populations, I have learned that a basic human need is “being emotionally connected to one another" which is fostered by safety & security in self, with others and the community at large which gets reflected through my work with individuals and couples.

Being able to connect with me & feeling safe to explore vulnerable feelings & emotions is an important value I hold for our initial sessions, as we explore & dig into your stories, I pay close attention to patterns, and your family of origin along with how you understand & express emotions. Together we collaborate to create a blueprint for your therapy goals.

I am very warm, and compassionate in my sessions but I do like to challenge you in a caring way to help you identify where you are stuck, cultivating a growth mindset & change.

Today, I couldn’t be happier to say that I have supported my clients by holding a safe space to

  • Explore unprocessed trauma & emotions,

  • Understand stories of family of origin & its impact on relationships

  • Finding their voice & accepting their authentic self.

  • Understanding their negative interactional patterns

  • Ways to address conflict in a healthy way

  • Toolbox for improved communication & connection.

  • Breaking the inter-generational trauma cycle

  • Creating boundaries without shame

  • Ability to show & accept love, compassion, warmth & kindness

  • Recovery from betrayal & rebuilding trust

I am here to listen to your unique story. Our life stories hold important fragments of who we are today.

Story Of Our Practice

It began with the birth of (VOY-IJ) as a practice name which was the first foundational stone symobolizing the “Journey that a couple embarks on in the search of safety & connection in their relationship pushing through the storm of complexities & challenges”....isn’t that heartwarming!!

Aligned with this vision, my goal is to offer you a team of compassionate therapists who can extend that light of hope & resiliency that allows you to persevere even when it feels darker inside or outside or who can be your cheerleaders when life throws a curveball.

Professional Background

The roots of my journey as a therapist go back to my childhood wounds, as an underconfident teenager who struggled with body-image issues and was a people-pleaser just looking to be accepted along with carrying the weight of being a “good girl” laden with cultural expectations, norms made me feel trapped in my own body.

In search of happiness & a state of confusion, I started hiding behind self-help books. I couldn’t access therapy (as therapy was taboo where I was growing up), so I took the first step towards starting my undergrad in psychology (I was hoping to be on a self-discovery rollercoaster). I completed my undergraduate in Psychology followed by a Master's in Science in Clinical Psychology.

Early on in my career, I worked with a non-profit organization (supporting human trafficking rescued girls) and interned under a psychiatrist at a community hospital providing support to an in-patient care team.

I completed my second master's in Marriage and Family Therapy at Northern Illinois University, aiming to explore the question "who are we" through a systemic perspective. Guided supervision and my personal therapy journey enabled significant self-growth, awareness, and the capacity to provide the same for my clients.
